Jupiter first entered Taurus on June 4th, 2011, and remains here until June 11th, 2012. Jupiter is our good luck factor or our positive karma. It tends to expand our life, our experience, our understanding and it is all about optimism, growth and abundance. It manifests differently according to the sign of the zodiac it is passing through. Since Taurus is an Earth sign related to practicality, finances and the material world, this is generally a more prosperous time for people generally (depending upon how it interacts with your natal chart).
Jupiter in Taurus does not signify get rich quick schemes but good, solid financial investments. Things that are tangible and solid, such as real estate. The best way to use these beneficent energies is to be charitable, generous and also patient. With Taurus, things manifest but in good time. It is not a sign to push or be pushed. Also Taureans are discerning and appreciate value so this is a time to be discriminating and invest in things that are worthwhile. It is a good time for us to draw upon our own values and resources and it’s important for us to have a strong feeling of confidence and self-worth. This definitely assists in bringing us success.
Also, this Venus-ruled sign is sensual and artistic and enjoys the natural but good things of life, such as a glass of fine wine, a rose or a beautiful piece of artwork. Jupiter is urging us, though to rise above our daily, earthly routines and mundane concerns to find what is truly valuable to us, and to learn to be truly appreciative and grateful for these things, such as our true friends, our loving families, the beauty of Nature, our health and, above all, our own spiritual potential.

The downside of Jupiter in Taurus is that it can make us self-contented and lazy while we wait for things to happen. We can enjoy the simple pleasure so much that we forget what is really important. Find where Jupiter is transiting in your own natal chart so that you can see where your life is meant to be growing and how you are supposed to be evolving.

This is a phenomenal year from many perspectives, and I have highlighted what I think are the top events of 2012, ones which I will talk about in my upcoming lecture on February 17 (see details left). These include:
- The Uranus/Pluto Square - what I call the "Clash of the Titans" when these two slow-moving planets come into difficult aspect with each other, indicating another revolutionary phase in history similar to the 1960s but more so...
- The Venus Transit on June 5. You may think it's not so rare as you may remember the last one in 2004. However, it is rare it's just that they come in pairs. You won't see another one until some future lifetime in 2117! Not by chance that this beautiful planet is crossing the Sun in this powerful year.
- The End of the Mayan Calendar. Well not quite the end, but the end of the 13th baktan which is a time period of 5,125 years. Obviously very significant.
- Eclipses, eclipses and more eclipses. A total of 29 eclipses and eclipse-like events this year - about 3 times more than usual.

- Planets in Water Signs. Whenever slow moving planets ingress into new signs, it has a significant effect on consciousness. Now we have Chiron in Pisces. On February 3 we shall also see Neptune moving there from Aquarius until 2025! Saturn too will soon move from Libra where it's been for the past two years, into Scorpio. Apart from water disasters, shortages, ice cap meltings, and other possible disasters with water, it is also an indication of the world of emotions and feelings being uppermost again - as well as the psychic and spiritual worlds. When Neptune last entered Pisces, for example, the Spiritualist movement was born.
- Also, we are now in the big, bold Year of the Water Dragon, regarded by the Chinese as an extremely fortunate year. You can read more about this and the astrological effects on my Blog.
- And more ....come to my lecture to find out what all this means if you're in the Metro detroit area. If there's enough interest, I may also be releasing it on MP3 or CD.
