2012: The Top 5 Astrology Events

This is a phenomenal year from many perspectives, and I have highlighted what I think are the top events of 2012, ones which I will talk about in my upcoming lecture on February 17 (see details left). These include:

  • The Uranus/Pluto Square - what I call the "Clash of the Titans" when these two slow-moving planets come into difficult aspect with each other, indicating another revolutionary phase in history similar to the 1960s but more so...
  • The Venus Transit on June 5. You may think it's not so rare as you may remember the last one in 2004. However, it is rare it's just that they come in pairs. You won't see another one until some future lifetime in 2117! Not by chance that this beautiful planet is crossing the Sun in this powerful year.
  • The End of the Mayan Calendar. Well not quite the end, but the end of the 13th baktan which is a time period of 5,125 years. Obviously very significant.
  • Eclipses, eclipses and more eclipses. A total of 29 eclipses and eclipse-like events this year - about 3 times more than usual.

Eclipse

  • Planets in Water Signs. Whenever slow moving planets ingress into new signs, it has a significant effect on consciousness. Now we have Chiron in Pisces. On February 3 we shall also see Neptune moving there from Aquarius until 2025! Saturn too will soon move from Libra where it's been for the past two years, into Scorpio. Apart from water disasters, shortages, ice cap meltings, and other possible disasters with water, it is also an indication of the world of emotions and feelings being uppermost again - as well as the psychic and spiritual worlds. When Neptune last entered Pisces, for example, the Spiritualist movement was born.
  • Also, we are now in the big, bold Year of the Water Dragon, regarded by the Chinese as an extremely fortunate year. You can read more about this and the astrological effects on my Blog.
  • And more ....come to my lecture to find out what all this means if you're in the Metro detroit area. If there's enough interest, I may also be releasing it on MP3 or CD.

The Year of the Dragon

Dear Friends:

The Year of the Dragon

The Year of the Water Dragon (often known as the Black Dragon)  begins on January 23, 2012. At this time, the flamboyant, magical Dragon will have his day.

The Date of the Year of the Dragon

You may think that this date is incorrect as it usually begins in February - and actually I have seen it as February 4 - but it really is January 23. It is the time also of the New Moon in Aquarius. The Chinese New Year’s Day is based on the Lunar Calendar which is indirectly based on the Sun’s cycle and it is set for the second New Moon after the December 21 Winter Solstice, i.e. January 23. They allow a full 28 day lunar cycle to occur after the Winter Solstice, before they consider the New Year to be fully birthed. This is why the Chinese New Year changes every year from the end of January to mid-February.

clip_image002

This New Year of the Black Dragon promises to be very exciting and fast moving. Although from a Western astrology perspective, things won’t really heat up until May and June. Also, from a numerological perspective we are in a Universal Five year which brings change and fast moving action. All in all, the best approach this year is to be alert to what’s going on around you, go with the higher flow of life and take opportunities quickly when they come. It is a time to pursue one’s dreams and is especially fortunate if your own birth Year is in harmony with the Year of the Water Dragon.

Compatibilities

The Dragon gets on well with the Rat, the Snake, the Monkey, the Horse, the Tiger and other Dragons, so these signs can do well in the Year of the Dragon. However, the Dragon has the hardest times with the Dog.

There is an immediate attraction between the Dragon and the Ox, but because they are both stubborn it is a relationship that’s hard to maintain. As far as the Rabbit, there are so many differences between them that it can be difficult; however, compromise is the key here. There’s usually some difficulty between the Dragon and the Goat though often an initial attraction which fizzles fast. The Rooster and the Dragon can get along and really like each other but living together can be full of arguments and disagreements. The Dragon and the Pig can be friends but the relationship can be irritating to those around them.

Elements

Since this is a Water year, those people born in a Wood year will generally fare better than others of their animal sign, while those born in a Fire one are likely to do worse. It’s also slightly negative for those born in an Earth year and mildly positive for Metal sign people. Finally, those born in a Water year will be in their element and do well if their animal sign is compatible with the Dragon.

Qualities of the Dragon

The Dragon is the mightiest of the Signs and therefore this can be the mightiest of all years – the great year of Destiny – 2012. Dragons symbolize strength, dominance, ambition. They like to live by their own rules and are often successful, driven and unafraid to take on challenges and risks. They’re passionate and do things in grand gestures. They are magnanimous and love to help others but rarely ever ask for help.

Dragons are most successful when they work alone and are often best left alone as they have magnificent tempers when riled – and steam can be seen spurting from their flared nostrils. However, being magical beasts, they are not be feared but loved, enjoyed and admired. Never disrespect these wonderful creatures. Love them and they will pick you up on their backs and take you to the far ends of the galaxy to the place of their magical dreams and high ideals.

The Dragon is a vigorous creature that can fly through the skies, filling them with its broad wingspan. They seem to command the skies and all the elements and breathe fire through their flared nostrils. It will be a vigorous year of strong health, abundant energy and fortune.

Blessings,

Chrissie Blaze

The Power of Nonviolence

Mohandas K. Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandi, is one of the most inspiring figures of our time. He was a major spiritual and political leader in India and he developed his concept of active nonviolent resistance – ahimsa - which propelled the Indian struggle for independence and countless other nonviolent struggles of the twentieth century.

He was born under the Sign of Libra on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. He came from an educated and wealthy family and as was the custom at that time, Gandhi had an arranged marriage at the age of 13 in 1883, to Kasturba Makhanji and they had four sons. He later went to University College London, at the age of 18 to train as a barrister. While adopting some of the English customs, he embraced vegetarianism and there joined the Vegetarian Society and founded a local chapter. Interestingly, some of the vegetarians he met there were also members of the Theosophical Society, founded in 1875 to promote universal brotherhood, and it was here he was first encouraged to study the Bhagavad Gita. After this he studied the works of all the major world religions. Later in his life when he was asked if he was a Hindu, he replied:

“Yes, but I am also a Christian, a Moslem, a Buddhist and a Jew.”

Upon his return to India, he organized the poor to protest against the oppressive taxation and the discrimination they endured. He led nationwide campaigns for the alleviation of poverty, the liberation of women, an end to caste discrimination, the economic self-sufficiency of the nation and more. However, above all, he “fought” using his “weapons” of non-violence, tolerance, respect and love for the independence of India from foreign domination.

A characteristic of Libra is idealism which, when unbalanced, can lead to fanatical proportions. However, it is the enlightened Libra who will strive to uphold and live his ideals in a loving and balanced way, as Gandhi did. With his great intelligence, wisdom and spirituality, he truly had achieved the degree of balance Librans seek. He practiced truth and non-violence even when all opposed him. However, the world was just not ready for a person of the stature of Gandhi. He was thrown into prison several times in his life in India and South Africa. In total, Gandhi spent 2338 days (6.4 years) in jail during his lifetime.

I think some people have a wrong interpretation of Mahatma Gandhi’s teaching of non-violence. This was not a weak, cowardly approach but it was just the opposite because the level of non-violence he advocated required incredible faith and tremendous courage. He and his followers faced suffering and even death for their demonstrations. However, what most people do not realize also is that he did not advise non-violence to everyone; he was realistic enough to know that not everyone was strong enough or courageous enough to adopt this approach. In fact, he believed that if there is a choice between cowardice and retaliation, he would advise retaliation. His ideals were extremely courageous and didn’t want to draw people to his movement who were fearful or incapable of resistance.

When Gandhi went to South Africa he was deeply affected by – and experienced first-hand - the racial discrimination that was rife in this country. During one famous incident in court in Durban, he was asked by the magistrate to remove his turban. Gandhi refused and stormed out of the courtroom. He also was thrown off a train after refusing to move from first class to third class coach, despite the fact that he held a valid first class ticket. Later he was beaten for refusing to travel on the footboard of the train to make room for a European passenger, and a white mob even tried to lynch him.

In 1906, Gandhi was still evolving his non-violent philosophy as a form of protest. Extract from Superstar Signs: Sun Signs of Heroes and You, O Books, by Chrissie Blaze. All rights reserved. No reproduction in whole or part without written permission from the publisher.

The Great Attractor

Today, Tuesday, December 6, the Sun, moving towards the lunar eclipse on Saturday, is in a conjunction with a deep space point called Great Attractor. This point is at the midpoint of Sagittarius in the midst of thousands and thousands of Galaxies. It is the largest thing known to science - a massive object in deep space that pulls everything in our Galaxy's vicinity towards it as it moves away from us.

We can't see it as. it's obscured by dust along the Galactic plane but we can see its effects and astronomers use gamma and infrared waves to read it. It has a massive gravitational force that, according to astronomers - and I am interpreting what I have read, so bear with me - seems to bend space-time so we can see around it to look around it at the back of the universe.

Galaxy Foxfur

From an astrological perspective, people with this point in their charts aspected can make a profound effect on others - attracting and pushing away at the same time - i.e. typically Sagittarian - they impress you and attract you, yet you don't dare come too close in case you crowd them.

Currently, in the same degree is the North Node which is the "destiny point" that moves us towards our destiny. This alignment of the Sun, the Great Attractor point and the North Node is today and won't happen again for 18 years. So, if there's been something you've wanted to do that is aligned with your life path or destiny - today is the day!

So we have the Sun, our character and sense of self, the North Node, our destiny point or soul's path, added to this powerful deep-space point all together. Astrologically, it's obviously a power-packed day and we have the strength and determination to now succeed. Dig deep and find that thing you need to do - and do it. Remember, the Great Attractor enables us to see around the curve to the back of the Universe. Perhaps now we can see around our own limitations to our true potential.

Also the Moon enters Taurus today at 9:34 a.m. - weird, exactly the time as I'm writing this as I glance down to the clock on my computer. I have the Moon in Taurus so it is definitely a sign for me. It is conjunct retrograde Jupiter bringing increased determination to bring our efforts to manifestation. Good luck!

Cosmic Café–Issue 2–Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving this year, 2011, is squeezed between Mercury Retrograde at 2:19 am EST Thursday morning - this retrograde lasts until December 13- and an Eclipse. This is an eclipse of the Sun in Sagittarius. This takes place at 1:09 am EST less than 24 hours later. Thanksgiving dinner is sandwiched between the two so watch out for pressure building at this family event! With an eclipse we can often feel as if pressure is building with invisible tension in the air which can distort your feelings of reality. It's good to take a reality check this Thanksgiving cos what sometimes seems to be the case, isn't always.

Thanksgiving
Added to that, Mercury retrogrades in the truth-seeking missile sign of Sagittarius, and so is the Eclipse. It's good to be prepared, with thick skin and your sense of adventure and sense of humor intact. You'll need these now.

This is also an interesting time in the world. A year ago, life was pretty conservative with the Tea Party dominating the news, and today the Occupy movement and pepper spray seems to be the order of the day. The good thing is that in the last year we have seen that we actually can make a difference. In my 2012 lecture, I predicted all these things and more for 2011 and 2012. I say, "we ain't seen nothing yet." Sagittarius likes to open our mind to big possibilities and that is just what is now going on.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Blessings,

Chrissie Blaze

About Astrology–Class 1

The cosmos speaks to us in that language of mystery spoken by the heart. Astrology is that language. The solar system is our college; the planets and constellations our teachers; our horoscope the syllabus and examination paper. When we graduate we can travel beyond the stars. Why hesitate?” – Chrissie Blaze

Cassiopeia_

You are unique and your horoscope proves it. There is not one other person anywhere on else on earth who has a horoscope quite like yours. Your horoscope is a gift you were given at birth and is your guidebook for life.

The word astrology is derived from Greek, Astron (Star) and Logos (talk). It’s Star Talk -- in other words it’s a language. Astrology is the influence of the planets on human behavior and its language describes this influence. It is the language used by the cosmos to speak to us which it does every second of every day. It is not a language of words but a visual language of symbols that communicate at a deeper level than words. This is the reason it’s better to read your horoscope than just to read books about your horoscope.

Symbols are powerful and deeply rooted in the collective unconscious. This is why reason international corporations like McDonalds and Mercedes Benz use globally recognized symbols that resonate and evoke certain feelings and associations more directly than the words themselves.

When you look at your horoscope what you are actually seeing is a slice of the cosmos. If you could take a tuning fork to your horoscope you would find that the energy of that cosmic slice vibrates to your own personal energy pattern. Your horoscope is you, from an energy perspective.

Anna is a clairvoyant who can read your aura just by looking at you. It’s uncomfortable at times because you can’t keep any secrets from her especially when she’s on form! Just by looking at you, Anna can tell your mood and your health, as well as give an interpretation of your personality and what is happening in your life.

john lennon

In a similar way an astrologer looks at the energy pattern of your horoscope to give an interpretation. Just as a clairvoyant is employing her psychic powers so too does an astrologer, though in a different way. The clairvoyant reads your aura through the patterns and colors she sees while the astrologer reads the energy pattern of your horoscope through the planets, signs, houses and the relationships these make one with another.

Your horoscope, the chart drawn up for the moment of your birth, is a blueprint for your life and destiny. It is a guide or a road map through the highways and byways of life. It is also your karmic pattern and shows what your soul has agreed to take on before you were born.
